Reading and Sending Messages with Eudora Pro

Eudora Pro is the default email application on employee computers and in public labs. Following is a brief introduction to using Eudora Pro. Start Eudora Pro by double-clicking the Eudora icon on the desktop.

Enter the password for your Allegheny account in the dialog box that requests it.

Any new email will appear in the "In" window. Double click on a message to read it.

Eudora Pro is configured to automatically check for new mail every 15 minutes. You can click the Check Mail button Screen Shot to force an additional check for new mail.

To send a new message, click the New Message button. Screen Shot

You must then fill in the following information:

  1. Enter the email address of the recipient into section A.
  2. Enter the subject of the email into section B.
  3. Begin typing the body of the email into section C.
  4. When you are finished with your email, press the Send button in section D.

To attach a file attachment to an email you are sending, click Message > Attach File on the Eudora menu.

Select the file you would like to attach in the browse window that appears (your directory contents may differ) and click Attach.

Moving the mouse pointer over any of the buttons on the toolbar will identify that button. For additional help, click Help on the main menu.
