The other day my daughter wanted to play with the marble on my desk. The marble was actually a mouse ball. So when she dropped the 'marble' on the walk home it chipped. As she never saw a marble chip so easily she asked why it happened. I tried to explain what a mouse ball was. That didn't go so well cause none of the mice we have at home have them.
Is a balled mouse the new rotary phone?
That being said I thought I would share this goolgle search for obsolete technology.
I particularly like the wired article's section on telegraph. STOP

Thank you for making me feel old on this Monday morning! Of the 10 best obsolete technologies Wired mentions, I've used 4 or 5 - some extensively. Ahhh, the Ditto machine. All the way through high school, any time a teacher passed out a test the first thing we all did was put it up to our nose and inhale. It smelled great. The high was just an added bonus. And getting to be the one who cranked that machine was always a great honor - though I don't much remember the walk back to the classroom.
