This blew my mind. Thought it had to be April Fools on us, but Amazon has got quite an idea going here.
Amazon has rolled out buying by text. You text a product name, ISBN, or UPC to Amazon, and they give you the option to buy the closest matches. You get a phone call to confirm your order.

I saw that, too. I don't know if I'd do the buy-by-text thing, but I'd definitely use it to look up a price while I was in a shop. I already do this a bit with the iPhone and Safari, but texting would be much more streamlined and probably faster.
If I decided Amazon was the way to go I think I'd wait till I got home to place the order, though.

Kudos to Amazon for making impulse purchases that much easier. It's hard enough for me to resist buying new books and software with just an internet browser alone... now I have to have another option!
