'Meeting' with Martin Ramsay

Today Susan and I talked, well more video conferenced, with Martin Ramsay. The meeting was productive as it allowed for sharing of needs, expectations, and progress to this point.

Over the course of the conversation, we shared the tools set our piloteers will need

* Discussion Boards (threaded if at all possible)
* Quizzes
* Group work and document sharing space
* Foreign language support

and the tools that we would like to learn more about.

* blogs where access is granular
* equation editor
* incorporation of multimedia
* librarian access to post electronic reserves

and our expectations of the pilot

* to gain experience with Sakai
* to offer pilot courses in Fall 2007 and have the summer to develop the courses/convert them from WebCT
* to receive training for instructional technologists and others that will support Sakai so that we can be self-reliant on the day to day questions that arise
* to do this in a collaborative process to take advantage of each participants strengths
